NCC Automation Systems Company ("NCC" or "the Company"), a mature supplier of automation solutions and manufacturer of high-precision pallet handling and sanitary conveying products, today announced that it has been acquired by ATS Automation Tooling Systems Inc. (TSX: ATA) ("ATS"), a leading industry supplier of automation solutions serving many of the world's most successful companies.
NCC's addition expands ATS's precision conveying technology portfolio, enhances ATS's position in regulated markets, and enables NCC to diversify its offerings and expand its influence in target markets and new regions. Since its founding in 1986 as a custom sanitary conveyor design and manufacturing company, NCC, an employee-owned business, has steadily enhanced its capabilities and launched innovative products to serve its customer base. As part of large global automation solutions provider ATS, NCC will be able to leverage complementary technology products and expand its customer value proposition.
"From our early conversations with the ATS management team, it became evident that our two companies share strong alignment in our visions, objectives, and business plans," said Kevin Mauger, President of NCC. "By becoming part of the ATS family, we'll be better positioned to realize our ambitions and drive strong growth across our entire business unit."
NCC generated $ 31 million in sales in 2020 and currently operates under the brands NCC Automation Systems, Glide-Line, SideDrive Conveyor Co., and Nutra-Pack Systems, serving customers in the food and packaging, ophthalmic, assembly automation, and nutraceutical industries.
"NCC's addition further demonstrates our intent to expand our differentiated product offering and strengthen our position in the food and beverage end market," said Andrew Hider, CEO of ATS. "With its strong leadership, excellent workforce, and robust product and technology portfolio, NCC will enable us to play an even greater role in supporting the needs of our diverse customer base."
Under ATS ownership, NCC's brands and company personnel will be retained. The company will continue to be led by Kevin Mauger and operate from its headquarters in Souderton, Pennsylvania.
"I'm incredibly proud of our team at NCC and their ongoing commitment to building and strengthening our company," added Mauger. "This transaction creates a strong and stable future for NCC; enabling us to better serve our customers and expand our reach into new markets and regions."
