IDS is one of the world's leading manufacturers of digital industrial cameras. IDS offers high-performance, easy-to-operate USB, GigE, and 3D cameras with various sensors and variants. IDS has always been committed to the development and production of industrial image processing products. With technical vision and keen insight into future developments, we recognize the signs of the times. We continuously adopt key future technologies from the consumer field and adapt them for industrial use: IDS makes USB interfaces compatible with the camera industry. Our latest innovation is the visionary product platform IDS NXT with artificial intelligence - a new generation of vision systems for industrial applications.
Starting this August, IDS will offer three new sensors for its uEye FA industrial camera series. These uEye FA industrial cameras are robust and therefore ideal for demanding environmental conditions, such as factory automation. The 12 MP (IMX226) and 20.44 MP (IMX183) Sony sensor cameras are truly high-performance cameras with high resolution and low noise. For special requirements, the company will also integrate the 5 MP polarization sensor IMX250MZR.
The housing, lens mount, and threaded connectors (8-pin M12 Ethernet connector with X-coding and 8-pin Binder connector) of uEye FA models meet the requirements for protection class IP65/67. GigE cameras can operate with 12-24 V or as PoE setup (Power over Ethernet). PoE enables practical single-cable operation up to 100m. Cameras are typically used for machine vision tasks and quality assurance in industrial plants. For example, supported by the modern IDS peak SDK software.
Both the 12 MP rolling shutter sensor IMX226 (4000 x 3000 px) and the 20.44 MP rolling shutter sensor IMX183 (5536 x 3692 px) are part of Sony's STARVIS series. Due to BSI technology ("backside illumination"), they feature excellent light sensitivity and low noise. The 5 MP polarization sensor IMX250MZR also supports interesting application scenarios. It shows its advantages especially in low contrast or reflected light and helps detect scratches on surfaces or stress distribution inside transparent objects. This makes details visible that would otherwise be hidden from other sensors.
A total of three different product lines realize unlimited application ranges in plant, factory, and mechanical engineering as well as non-industrial fields (such as medical technology, agriculture, or logistics).
