NEC Solution Innovators has begun providing a service that automatically distinguishes between defect-free and defective products by having AI learn only images of flawless products. Traditional services required AI to learn images of both good and bad products, but detecting defective products and rarely appearing foreign objects becomes easier with only good product images. This service will be provided to the food manufacturing industry to improve the efficiency of factory inspection work.
The functionality of the "NEC AI/Image Utilization Visualization Service" provided since 2018 has been enhanced. Images of defect-free products are collected and used to train AI. Cameras are installed on production lines, and AI automatically detects good and defective products. In conventional services, AI needed to understand defective products, but it was difficult to collect large numbers of images of rarely occurring defects and foreign objects, and accuracy low enough to detect on actual production lines. For example, this service can also be used on fish processing lines; if you haven't prepared images yet, you can also have AI learn only fish images to determine good or bad products.
The discrimination data from NEC Solution Innovators' AI is collected in the cloud, displaying production progress, defective product failures, and other data. Production status can be monitored not only from the workplace but also from the office.
